Overview

A villa garden for play, parties and quiet mornings

The challenge: a 1,100 m² sloping plot around a new-build villa — exposed, overlooked and too hot by midday. Two young children, one dog and grandparents to please.

Our approach: terraced lawns for safe play, deep tropical borders of palms, bird of paradise and hibiscus for privacy, a shaded pergola dining terrace, and warm low-voltage lighting so the garden glows after sunset. A tucked-away reading corner sits beneath the existing mango tree.

The outcome: a garden the whole family claims — football on the upper lawn, dinners under the pergola, and a quiet seat that is never empty for long.
